MP3s "Needles" - System of a Down - DLd via Morpheus. This is the most original group I've heard in a long time. Originality is hard to come by these days, when everybody's imitating everybody else. I really like this group. Previous songs by System that I DLd:
MP3s Beef Savage: This is the band that Pud belongs to. Pud is the creator of Fucked Company, a website devoted to the documentation of, yep, you guessed it, fucked companies. This is a pretty good site. Beef Savage is a pretty good band. Nothing very special, I think, but competent. But the downloads are free at the Beef Savage site, so what have you got to lose? "Touch of Evil" is the best. I like it a lot. Sounds a lot like the old Frank Zappa stuff. Clever and sarcastic lyrics. The personal site of a babe, Evany, who works at Webmonkey. An absolutely adorable site. All pink and pretty, and clean. I hate busy sites with all that clutter. But the blurb in Webmonkey's newsletter promised pictures, and the few I found were too small to reveal too much. I want to see a large close up of her face, and more. At Webmonkey: Evany's "Photoshop 7.0 Overview" TRIALWARE "For peer-to-peer blogging with dynamics that don't end try out Radio8 from Userland Software" (39.95 for a year with 20MB of free hosting. Free 30 day trial Keep the still-usable software even if you let the subscription lapse after a year.) I'd do this, if I needed the Web space, and if I didn't have such a strong aversion to paying for anything I can get for free elsewhere, such as: FREEWARE Movabletype Blogging software. Downloaded this yesterday, but I haven't set it up yet. But it looks promising. And it's free! [Update: Forget about it, unless you're well-versed in coding and using CGI scripts. It's a very complicated set-up.] [Or, best of all: see May 21st, 2002 - Blog 5.0. This weblog is made with that freeware.]
FREEWARE Minute Timer 1.1 (39K) Handy little program that sets up and is ready to use in a minute. When you need to be alerted when a specified amount of time has past, this is the program to do it. I lose track of time all the time. Now all I got to do is remember to set this thing. |
